New to me H&R Model 700 semi auto. 22 mag.

    I am about to become the owner of a like new H&R Model 700 22 Mag Semi Auto made only for a few short years. Comes
 with 5&10 shot clips & factory scope mount. Found a couple extra 10 rd clips at Joe R Lowe clips in Texas. It appears to
 be a good looking rifle and hope it shoots as well. This will be my first deviation from the single shot H&R's. Was wondering
 if any of you own or have owned one and could enlighten me as to how they shoot , ammo suggestions , problems if any,
 hints, comments ?  Thanks Fred

If you're not sure what ammo to use, send it to me for testing!   I am no help to you on the gun, but it looks really good.   Hope it shoots as good as it looks.

I had one about 20 years ago.

Had 2 out of battery discharges and got rid of it.

I figure it was a failure to feed that the bolt crushed the rim on, thus detonating the round.

Semi-Auto? I dont think that idea will ever catch on......

fred,  stove-pipe'n will cause that....and we know what causes stove-pipe'n don't we !!!!!!!!!!
that 700 can and will be a reliable shooter in your hands.........
with the previous use it had,... not a problem
