Patriot Guard Riders

I'm a member of the Patriot Guard Riders and was just wondering if there are any other members here. In case you haven't heard of us, we are the ones, who when requested by the families, stand between them and protesters at soldiers funerals. We also act as, again only when requested, escorts for those leaving on or returning from duty.

I had heard little to nothing of the Patriot Guard until recently. A local soldier died in combat and that church of idiots threatened to disrupt the proceedings. I think it was close to 200 members of the Patriot Guard who were on hand and escorted his body from the airport I think in B'ham all the way along the route and stayed until all was over. They then escorted a group of soldiers who came in on three big buses for some purpose not related to the funeral and then departed only after that.

Please, if you have the time, watch the full video. This says better what we do than words alone ever could.

I was until I got a e-mail from the state chief saying we could not go to the first Tea Party rally at our state capitol.

My vest has been in the closet since 15 APR 2009.

There are many VA organizations that have the same rules. The way to get around it is to go anyway but just don't advertise that you belong to any particular organazation.
