I recently bought a Taurus PT 145 when I was looking for a more potent CCW weapon. I have been carrying either a 38 revolver or a 380 auto. I was looking for something with more power and more fire power. Well after looking at a bunch of hand guns I bought the PT 145. This gun holds 10 + 1 of 45 acp which in my book placed it ahead of what I have both fire power and pure power wise. The cost was rather modest at around $400. What I did not know was reliability and accuracy when I bought it. Well I have now run some tests with both factory and hand loads and I find it to be both reliable and accurate for the type pistol it is. The pistol weights empty at around 22 oz and is only about 6 inches long by 5 inches high. I have no problem carrying it either in a belt holster by Done Hume or an in the pants one by Bianchi. It is no more difficult to carry than either of my other two CCW handguns. I ran hard ball, several brands of defensive HP ammo as well as several different cast bullet hand loads through it for a total of 300 rounds over a five day time frame without a single malfuction. Once used to the trigger and rather snappy recoil I have no problem placing ten rounds at 15 yards into the black with most of them in the 10 and X ring on a standard 35 yard pistol target. This has now become my CCW handgun of choice.
