I've always shot winchester 3/4oz rifled slugs.  when you shoot a deer you don't feel it, but at the range it gets painful.  If you reload or have a friend that does you could make up some light kickers by pulling the slug and recharging it, or, load up some round balls.

If it was a rifled slug gun I'd say Lightfield hybrid express 2 3/4. In my 20ga Tracker II all you fell is a little nudge. Otherwise just buy every kind of foster slug thats out there shoot them and see which has the least felt recoil. Put a limb saver recoil pad on it also. I have friend who has a messed up shoulder due to a car accident. He put a limb saver on his 20ga and I was amazed at how well they negate recoil.

We bought my wife a shooting vest with a pocket that holds gel packs sold at sporting good stores that sell shooting supplies. She can use a thick pack when it is really hot and she wears a light weight top. As the temps cool for fall she can reduce the thickness with the heavier top and jacket by the time hunting season arrives she is wearing her heaviest coat and the recoil isn’t felt much then  either.

That way your not fooling around with different loads.

Doesnt Aguila market some shorter and/or lighter shotgun loads?

My daughter shoots 2 3/4 Barnes Expanders ( Federal ) in a Mossberg Bantam. She really hasn't complained and I think it's about as handy shooting as it can be. Stays on target real well a nice bump not a woopin'. They are 5/8ths oz. and run 1600fps.

Less slug weight, less slug velocity = less recoil.  Compare ballistics of the various offerings and pick accordingly.  Unless there is some pressing need to shoot a slug only, I would think it would be better to let her practice with a cartridge with less kick "to get used to recoil".  Even a 20ga has a good kick when shooting slugs, especially a fixed breach single shot.
