I have a scoped 617 I have used for tree rats for years now. However, I picked up a 6" 17 last year, but haven't had a chance to shoot but a couple of times at the range. Both shoot mighty fine.

However, the best .22 I have ever held was a 6" Colt Diamondback. Beautiful gun, slick action . . . Just didn't have the $500 at the time.

I would love to have one the .22 Diamonbacks to match my 38!!! They are fine pistols indeed!

Guess I need to get educated on the K22's never seen one in person, but I have a Smith Police 38spl that is smooth as glass.

I've been out on the road for the last 2 months, however, during My travels I picked up a Model 48-2  8-3/8" bbl as a companion for My Model 17 and Model 617.

I have an old Mdl.18 well worn from years of use. Also have a Mdl. 48 not so worn but used just the same. These old  girls are classic handguns in anyones book.  They were made when American pride and workmanship was known thru out the world.  We have turned a page in firearm ownership.  The choice arms of today are molded plastics and investment casting.  There is nothing wrong with them, just changing times.  That is why owning and shooting the old American made steel guns take us back to another time in or history. 8)

I started out on handguns with a K22 when I was around 15yoa. Walking in the woods with a couple boxes of 22s. A fine handgun with a smooth action. One of the best S&W ever put out.
