does anyone know like the prices for average furbearers?

like coon, muskrat, possum, fox, yotes, etc.

Here are some of the prices I saw in KY last year.

red fox: 20-30$
grayfox: 10-15$
coyote: 20-30$
coon:2-10$
possum: 1-5$

Like I said these are just some that I remeber. I did see coyotes go as low as 12$ and reds about as low. It all depends on primeness and fur handling.

I know coyotes, fox, and semi-hevy coons are suppose to do good this year. If you are looking for money target these animals.

Also you are a little more north than me so you may see a little better prices.

If you are looking to make the really big $$ in trapping-- put your money in Enron stock instead. :eek: It can be done but takes years of experience and working long lines.

But if you are wanting to enjoy the most wonderful sport in the world, hang in there! Unless you are a long liner, it is doubtful you will make a lot of money. And it is like any other endeavor- the more you work at it, the more you will reap. This year, I am not looking to make a lot of money- my thoughts are on trying to make my sets at the right locations for the target; make the best constructed sets I can; learn more about each animal; and maybe then, my pay check will be a little better than I expected.

I don't really think the market is settled down enough yet to get a real good guage on prices. If you expect the coon to be down a little from last year, with the long hairs about the same, then you probably won't be disappointed. Ask me in a month and I probably still won't know. :wink:

Forget what? :cry: BTW, what are those possum you catch bringing? I got one that is black and about 10 inches long including the tail. Do furbuyers pay for the tails too? Is that the size and type fur that bring the most? You could give me about $8 plus shipping for it and I'll send it to you.

Geeze Joey, turn them loose that was a barn rat! Possums have silly stupid look about them ...well, you know, you see a similar PIC every morning over your bathroom sink. :eek:
