The way I see it the Russians were telling the truth. They put the pirates on their boat without navigational equipment and set it adrift. "It seems they all died". Yup. No more piracy for these guys. Lots of posters on the web these days are talking about how to handle pirates have been advocating such draconian methods as keelhauling, yardarm hanging, etc. In the end, this is no different. I would think that pirates in that area would now consider very carefully before trying to capture a Russian ship or its crew. At least the Russians have made their point about how far they'll go to protect their own. We get a certain benefit from all of this as well. These pirates captured by the Russians won't be bothering our US ships and crews, either. Sucks to be them.
