No more Stevens 200's at Walmart

Ordered a Stevens 200 2 weeks ago , so I call and see if its in , the guy says , he'll call in to check on it . Called back 10 minutes later and was told to come get my money refunded , seems they deleted the Stevens models out of there special order catalog after I ordered mine . So i drove across town to MC sporting goods , and low and behold they have 1 model 200 in 22-250 left on sale for $309.99 . I figured with the release of the Savage Edge , the Stevens could be put out to pasture , so I wanted to get 1 to put back , just in case

I hope not , shot my stevens today . It's a shooter . I just thought it odd that savage added the edge to compete with the lower priced rifles when they already had the stevens line  .

It's due to the Marlin and Mossberg, IMHO.

The Stevens isn't much higher in price that the 2 but I guess to some people, every dollar counts! But I agree, I would hate to see the Stevens take a back seat to the EDGE!

Well I dont know if Savage is planning to lay-off the 200 but I know I found them for $199.00 at an area Academy Sport shop . And Hell for that price I could grab three for the price I have given for one rifle .
