I prefer the 'tactical' models, that are the original design with a button that's just a bit longer than standard, rather than the ones with the H-U-G-E screw-on button.  Less chance to accidentally bump it and jettison the loaded mag onto the concrete!

I have the larg screw on extended mag release  by Ed Brown.  Never had a problem with it OR  accidentally droping out the mag.  I carry  my 45 alot.....My 2 cents, we all have likes and dislikes.

Wilsons are good.
There really a lot of good ones--and--different designs-something for every mind.
BUT---I really like big extended mag releases.

On serious combat guns, things like trigger shoes, extended magazine releases, oversize safety's sometimes have a bad habit of causing you to say things you would never say in church....  When I was really into the various combat shooting disciplines, I used several 1911's with all the bells and whistles, and they worked as intended.  When I tried carrying carrying my modified 1911's, several times I noted the oversize ambi safety would disengage when you brushed against something the wrong way, or the mag would release after the over size/extended size mag release button somehow became depressed while in the holster.

I guess what I am trying to say is that in a serious combat gun, simpler is better, and reliability is paramount.
