Jonathan Miller stopped by the other day to talk about our field management and crop rotation.  We talked about the wolf kills at his place, and he told me the calf that was killed wasn't killed outright, it was eaten alive.  I'd love our pro-wolf idiots to be able to witness that.

  Wolves will pull down a pregnant cow moose, rip her belly open pulling out the unborn calf, eat what they want of it, and leave the cow to bleed to death.  Then off they go, hunting again.

Contrary to the Public Television and Robert Redford story that wolves just take the sick and the old as some sort of humane act of nature, when a wolf pack gets into a situation of abundance they are quite well known to eat the stomach out of an ungulate and then move on to the next animal, leaving the partially eaten animals alive.   I am not judgemental about the wolves but I do have a disdain for Public Television and the fictional world they want us to believe exists.
