Ultra varmint stock removal

I am trying to remove the ultra varmint forend from my 204. I've taken the forend screw out but the forend won't budge. What am I missing?

Sounds defective, you had better send the complete gun to me for inspection. ::) ::)

If the forend is this tight, how will it affect accuracy? Is this a candidate for the floating work that I read about regarding these rifles?
