shot an old pump BDL 30-06 today
« on: May 09, 2010, 06:07:26 PM »

the three shot group at lower right is from a pump remington with a vintage Weaver scope that a friend had not fired in AT LEAST 20 years.  And yes I did check the bore for obstructions...I used some 165 gr 30-06 loads I had layin around.  again, it was pretty much on at 25 so it got fired three times at 100 and that is the lower group.  them old pump guns shoot pretty darn good!  that group is 3/4" easily
Though taken from established manufacturers' sources and presumed to be safe please do not use any load that I have posted. Please reference Hogdon, Lyman, Speer and others as a source of data for your own use.

Nice group. Pump guns are sleepers.

They are excellent guns.

This 760 in .243 has been a KEEPER since first time my brother and I fired it in 1968.  Stocks were replaced in mid-70's.
