Hi All,

When you do a rechamber how do you change the caliber designation on the barrel?

If someone here had whatever equipment needed and is pretty good at it... it might be a good little business since a FFL isn't needed for a barrel.  Especially with the amount of rechambering Handi-Holics do on their own.

My "gunsmith" simply stamped an X over the M when he rechambered my .357 Mag to Maximum.  Pretty crude.  Another guy, very familiar with the FAQs rechamered my .44 Mag to Super Mag and did a beautiful job per the FAQs.  The barrel now reads ".445 Super Magnum", a truly Super rifle.

Put a 'hang-tag' on it when you rack it specifying what the caliber is and when done, until you get the stuff, or find someone to do it neatly. If it is done poorly you will regret it every time you look at it.
