357 Maximum Barrels
« on: May 12, 2010, 04:35:01 PM »
I have a DW 357 15-2 pistol pack with 4 barrels. I have found a 357 Maximum with only a six inch barrel. both are 357,s I know the Max has a lot more pressure but that is in the frame. Can I use my 8 inch barrel off the 15-2 on the Max. Hope this is not to dumb of a question. Thanks for any info

Don't think so, I belive the OD of the Max barrels is larger than the 15-2 barrels as the Max is built on a 44 frame. Basically the DW 357 Max is a 44 Mag frame with a longer cylinder and 38 cal holes.

The various DW companies anticipated the attempting to put the wrong barrel on their guns and the barrel to frame threads are slightly different for each caliber as well as the size difference for the frames, so the short answer is no as the Max is a LOT more pressure and dangerous in a mag barrel.
