Ordered my 22 mag.
« on: May 13, 2010, 04:54:09 PM »
I like my versa pack 22 so much I went to the shop today and ordered it's bigger brother. I'm gettin' the 22 mag Sportster with sights and synthetic stocks. Should be here in a couple weeks. ;D
If it shoots anything like my versa barrel I'll be a very happy camper. ;)

I love my H&R in 22 WMR.  It performs as well as any other rimfire I own.  Mine prefers the 30gr V-max CCI, but it does well with many others as well.

What kind of groups are you getting with your mag.? I'm hoping it'll shoot as well as my versa pack 22. ;D

Spanky, Patty's got one and it drives tacks.  The only drawback is I can load .223s cheaper.  Her's is a 20 inch lam.  It's a sweet little rifle though.  I had a Marlin, I believe it was 50M.  Didn't like it at all, just cride
to me.  I had made some nice shots with it.  Dumped a chuck at about 240 one time and a wounded goose at about the same distance.  Just didn't like the bolt and the price of the ammo.  You can shoot .223 mil surp for plinking and pests for less.

Thanks Pete... I'm hoping mine will be a good shooter too. I used to have a have a Marlin bolt gun in 22 mag and it was a good shooter but ugly. :D

Ive had a .22WMR Ultra Varmint for several years with satisfaction. Recently I put BC-Carbine wood on it and like the look & feel better than the lams (which went on my 38-55 TM). It was little long in the pull and the balance wasnt right (butt heavy) for me.
It seems to shoot as well as most of my other field guns, not as well as strictly target rifles. Probably me.
