Took a ride
« on: July 11, 2010, 04:11:41 AM »
I took a ride that covered 2100 miles 3 wks ago,and loved it. I did'nt make a Ironbut ride( my wife went with me)but the roads in Colorada are the best Ive ever rode. After riding the highway between Durango and Montrose,I'm really glad I did'nt try riding through that area in the late eve hrs. on the final 200 miles of a ironbut ride.If you hav'nt rode this area, you're missing out on some of the finest scenery in the U.S..
The new Goldwing climbed every thing in 5th gear with ease(even the uphill 15 mph curves) and averaged 50 to 54 mpg. in the Colorada area, and 43 to 45 mpg everwhere else.It was a cool 62 degrees at Redmountain pass at noon and was almost cool enough for the heated grips.
I probably go back in late August if I can plan a ride through Ok.and Texas without cooking my self. Maybe a few of us can plan a trip together about that time. ;D ;D ;D ;D  Digger

Grim, Am still not carrying a camera but am smart enough to remember the camera in my cell phone at least. Never know when ya might need someone to hold the bike up ;)

Sounds like a great ride Ditchdigger.
