mossberg SA-20 or weatherby SA-08

Any thoughts or experience between the better of the two? I'm not looking to spend much, just want another 20ga auto.

Actually both are made in Turkey, the Weatherby by ATA Arms, and the Mossberg by Armsan. I looked at a Weatherby today, but in 12ga, not too bad, and very light. They didn't have the Mossberg so I couldn't compare.

There is now Mossberg International. They import the SA-20, The Reserve series over under and side by side, and the entire rimfire line.

The Weathereby SA-08 is highly rated by outdoor writres and magazines. It has very good reviews and owner reports.

One outdoor writer went so far to say that the Turkish guns were quickly becoming the new quality standard. I can't remember who it was but he is spoken of on the Shotgun World forum if you care to go there and search gun opinions.

Well, after a little research I decided to get the Weatherby. I picked it up today and overall it seems pretty good. A few minor things like a spacer was bent, but Weatherby is sending out a new one. The barrel looks like its two pieces, a tube pressed onto the chamber, but if it works, oh well. I'll have it out this weekend and see how it does.
  Another thing, Weatherby's website had what I would call a little false advertising. The video description of the shotgun says it has a magazine cut-off, which it does not. The magazine cut-off was the selling point for me, so I was a little ticked off when I had the gun in hand and found out it didn't have it. I told their customer service as much and was told she would "pass that information along", which I have every confidence she will .
  But aside from that I can't complain.

    So far I've had the new shotgun out in the field/woods 4 times and it's been good. Nice and light to carry and points good. I used the heavy gas piston at first, as suggested in the manual, and it would not cycle 1oz loads at 1220fps. Put in the light piston and no problems with the 1 or 7/8oz loads. One drawback is the finish, it's not as durable as the matte finish on my Rem 870. I use [abuse] my shotguns by using them to push my way through brush and whatever else is in my way and the Weatherby is showing some marks on the receiver and barrel, unlike the 870. But for the price, I would definitely recommend it.
