Disposable cable stakes, your opinion and advice
« on: May 23, 2010, 02:01:35 PM »
Going to use disposable cable stakes this year and wanted to know which ones are the best so I don't waste my time and money on a piece of junk.  Was thinking about using either Berkshire or Super Stakes.  Your opinion and advice would be appreciated, the good and bad.

What about the ugly? Clint Eastwood would also include them.

I love the Berkshires, they work great for me.

Stay away from the Berkshire HD ones- they look neat, but the hinge for the cup is VERY weak, and in any type of hard soil, you will curse them because the hinge constantly straightens out when driving- pilot hole or not.....trappnman

the reason i like the chain on them is in my rocky ground you cant always get it drove all the way in and the cable sticks up.

Mike,I am going to head to Kentucky. I will then attache you to a Berkshire cabled stake--regular,heavy duty or soft ground( your choice). Your wife and I will then sit in the shade(drinking coffee and cool beverages) and seeing how long it takes you to get out  LOL--a time limit will be set--sure would hate to warch you wither in the sun.

Uncle, uncle, I give!  OK, I will be buying Berkshire, everyone has convinced me, especially Tom.  It's been almost 90 degrees here so I wouldn't last long; I'd wither away for sure.
