Heritage Mfg. Rough Rider
« on: May 21, 2010, 04:33:46 PM »
It's no Ruger Single Six but I recently bought a Heritage Mfg. Rough Rider .22 - .22 mag Convertble 6 1'2" barrel and a Mexican Double Loop holster and gunbelt from them too. I love the authentic looks of the rig and the Coco Bolo grips that come standard on the Rough Rider are beautiful. It's just a very fun plinker and varmint exterminater. :)

I bought the Heritage Rough Rider in .22 magnum with birdshead grips.  Very comfortable gun and an excellent value for the money.

Thanks guys. I'm eventually going to get the .32 with birds head grips. Those grips sure give it the clasic look don't they?  :D

I've read several reviews of the .45's and they got some pretty impresive reviews. They were rated very highly. Here's my set up;

yep i have that same one, but your grips have a really nice looking grain to them, alot nicer then mine.
 how do you like the holster ? , i still need a holster for mine and the heritage offerings was at the top of my list to get, but i was not sure how they were, how rough the interior was and how well stitched they were

I'm not big on the fancy tooled holsters. I wanted something authentic looking. Also, I figured if I got one from them I could be sure it would fit my gun as it was made particularly for it. For the money they are quite well made. The fit is good and the inside of the holster is not really rough at all in that it is quite soft. I embelished mine with a vintage half dollar made into a concho just to kinda personalise it. Shipping was fast too. I bought mine at a large gun show so I had several to choose from. The grips on this one made it an easy choice. I have a love for wood and I've yet to see another with such pretty grained grips. I've since added a spare cylinder pouch to the gunbelt plus a slip on leather cartrige holder that holds 12 shells so that now I can not only carry both cylinders but both .22 LR and .22 mags as well.
