Butler, I used to have one. They are fairly good pistols. The one thing I have against them is that the sights seem to be held in with epoxy. Mine had the docetail cut too wide and was held in with epoxy. The other one I looked at seemed to be the same way. This was on the rear sight, the front sight was tight.
On the plus side, they shoot well and seem to be close spec too the Colt origional. I put a Nowlin barrel in the one I had. The barrel was a pre-fit job, with the dimensions made right at the blue-print dimensions. The only fitting I had to do was with the hood, the part at the rear of the barrel that hangs over the chamber. I had to narrow it slightly. According to Brownells, this was common with this barrel.
For that price, I think it is a good gun. They go for around $300 here. I'm thinking about one as a companion to my Springfield Mil-Spec.
The afore-mentioned sight problem never was a problem till I tried to refinish my gun. A small shim or a little tapping in of the dovetail will solve this problem. Newer guns might not even have this problem, mine was one of the early production guns.
