How many miles?
« on: May 05, 2009, 04:33:18 AM »
Just turned 7000 miles on  my 2001 Honda Rancher.  Runs as good as it ever did.   How many miles on your machines?  Any problems?

I have a 91 Honda 300.  Still runs great.  Have no idea how many miles are on it.  Third set of tires.  Would buy this exact machine again if it was in production.  Change oil every year and air cleaner ever decade.  Change rear end oil about every five years.

Beats da heck outta me it ain't got an odometer or even an hour meter. I've only had it around five years or so and still haven't changed the oil for the first time yet tho I keep reminding Matt it's over due for a change.

Since my average ride is seldom more than 200-400 yards I'd say it ain't got many miles on it. The grand kids likely have put more miles on it than me.

rancher driven at least a mile a day down to the paper box and back and plows a couple of miles of driveway ever snow. keep the oil changed yearly. put new brushes in the starter and one battery since new no way to tell mileage or hrs on it but it just keeps going.

I bought a used 2004 Grizzly last Dec. 26. It had 238 miles on it. I've more than doubled it this year and I don't take long rides. These beasts are FUN !!!  ;D

Don't know on my '88 Honda 350 Fourtrax, but I'm the second owner and have had it since '95.  I put a lot of miles on it every year - mostly in the mountains, but it is my work horse on the farm, also.  Only been in the shop once because the kill switch went bad and kept it 'killed' all the time.  I change oil yearly and clean/oil the air filter twice a year.  The Honda dealer keeps asking me when I want to trade it in on a new one.  I told him if he would sign a contract to the effect that the new one would be as tough and last as long as my machine, I'd trade in a heartbeat.  Obviously, he refused.
The Dunlop tires I have on it have been great.  They were new in '95 and I can get one more year out of them.
Thanks for the stump

The older I get, the better I was.
