IMR 4895 — H 4895:

Similarities?

Differences?

I understand that with H 4895 one can reduce loads to about 60% of max without getting into trouble. Is this true of IMR 4895?

I'm looking for a .35 Whelen load that will push a 200 grain gas checked cast bullet to about 2,000 fps.

i called hodgdon a while back, asked them if you could reduce charges with imr4895 like you can with h 4895. The response was that they had done extensive testing to h4895 with reduced loads but said testing was NOT done with imr 4895....so i would say no. The safe thing to do would be to treat them as two different powders IMHO.......Mike
