Good news, Bad news, Good news today!

Good news!  :)

My oldest son is about to graduate from high school on Friday.
He has also graduated from the MOUNT VISTA GOVERNORS SCHOOL with two years pre college and 33 credits transferable.
He was accepted to BOSTON ARCHITECTURAL COLLEGE (BAC), VIRGINIA POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE (VIRGINIA TECH or VT), and the UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA (UVA).
He chose UVA which is less than two hours away.
Today he was awarded an extra tassel to wear on his cap for having a 3.9 G.P.A. or better.

Bad news!  :'(

My youngest son, who is 14 and heavy into baseball was to have a double header on the same night.
Now what to do.
I am also one of the teams coaches.
Some of the other teams have had several games rained out.
The players must play in a certain percentage of games to be eligible to play on the ALL STAR team and via for the state championship.
We were lucky in that we have played enough games that all on our team have met their requirements.

Some good news today!  :) ;)

In order to help out the other teams, our team chose to trade our game spots on Friday to another team and we will take their spots later in the season.
Now we have no games on Friday so we will be free to enjoy my son's entire graduation until the end.
What a load off my mind.
Now, all we have to do is pray for good weather.

If I may be so bold, I would have attended the ONCE-IN-A-LIFETIME High School Graduation for a son with incredible talent, drive, and motivation.  What a set of accomplishments.  You must be Very Proud of him.  Congratulations.

Baseball can wait, someone else could coach that night, and your 14 year old will get the idea, and later the attention he deserves at his own graduation.

Glad it worked out for you!

+1   I have to concur with Land_Owner.   Your eldest's graduation is far more important than a baseball game.

Congratulations on raising an intelligent and motivated son.

Oh, I had all intensions of attending the graduation.
Wouldn't miss it for the world.
Was just trying to rack my brain how I/we were going to make it to the late second game after the ceramony was over.
Now I don't have to worry about it at all.

It sounds like you have raised 2 excellent sons, and Im sure the youngest would have understood and respected your decision to attend the graduation, and would have looked forward to the evening of his graduation, congradulations on raising 2 great children.   Jim
