Well, I had the last on my radiation treatments a month ago, Monday a week ago I had a PET scan and the news was good. The report shows a reduction in the size of the cancer but more importantly, it has almost completely lost its metabolic activity on PET in the interim. There is a complete resolution of hypermentabolic lymphadenopathy in the mediastinum and bilateral pulmonary hila. (Gone from the lymph nodes)
According to the doctor he is 98% sure it is in remission. I will need another month of Chemo to ensure any floaters are killed. He put me on a very aggressive form of Chemo called Taxotere, the side effects are almost as bad as the cancer but it should kill any floating cells. They will do another PET scan in September to be sure.
The bad news, the doctor recommended I cancel the bear hunting trip I had planned due to the loss in lung capacity, he thinks I could not take the altitude, maybe next year with a little exercise to improve that situation.
I want to thank everyone for the knee mail; I know it was a contributing force toward my success.
God bless y’all!!!
