Got A Mule Footed Hog

I finally got a mule footed hog this week, I have been here 30 years and have only killed one of them. At that time I did not know this hog was a mule foot, it was just a big fat hog. Well a friend of mine called me and said she had caught a mule footed sow about 5 months ago. It had 5 mule footed pigs and would I like to have a boar. I Always wanting one just for the novelty of it, I built a pen and got him. He is so cool having a hoof like a horse or a mule.

 It is said that they are descendant of the pigs the spaniards brought to the US originally. Two mule footed hogs bred together usually throw mule footed pigs, a cross throws pigs with one or more mule hooves. They definitely qualify as cool in my book. I once had a blueish boar with waddles and mule feet.

Pretty neat stuff, never heard of one. I guess from what I dug up they are a breed of hog raised. Evidently, there are wild crosses as well. http://www.albc-usa.org/cpl/mulefoot.html
