good deal?

Gart sports has a magellan 310 on sale this week for $50. Is this a decent price and is it a decent unit? I don't really know much about them, but I'm probably going to need one before long. Should I get one?

I'd skip the 310. It will give you the numbers but lacks the graphics screens that make navigation so much easier with other models. I can highly recommend the Mag 315 or the yellow Garmin Etrex for starter models.

I bought the 310 and I am very satisfied. It has faster aquisition time and stays locked on to sattelittes in heavy cover better than the Etrex. It also seems to lock onto more sattelites hat the etrex. Thats why I took back my etrex and bought the 310 for $50
