That's a good looking setup. Is that a Bushnell sitting on your barrel? Good luck Monday.

looks like a first class whitetail setup :yeah:
my 7-08 is a blue action, stainless 15" barrel, wood grip and forearm. if you can put a sling on that dude, and shorten it up pretty short, you might be able to shoot that baby offhand with aid of the sling. i hook it behind my left elbow, with my left hand on the forearm. apply opposing pressure with your hand or finger tips, and outward pressure with your left arm. the tightened sling steadies you up pretty good. i killed my two deer this way. 50 and 75 yards offhand.
only thing is, i screwed sling swivel studs into the end of my forearm, and in my walnut grip. wouldn't work on yours the same, but it could still be done. maybe a stud to replace the front forearm screw, and a grip bolt replacement stud. i think they make a sling kit that would do that.
works for me anyway. i'd say there's not many other ways to shoot these big guns offhand with much steadiness. i can hold mine as steady as i can a rifle, using only the sling for help.

Kyode,

I actually have a sling for it.. Mine hooks to the bbl with a clasp.. I agree you can get preaty steady shooting offhand with it but I dont like it there when I shoot it off a bench...

How does that setup look?  I'd like to see a picture of it if you can post one.

Thx, Bill

well, i like a two tone look at times. stainless barrel-blue action, stainless scope mount and rings- black scope. contrasting colors looks pretty sharp.
i'll try posting this picture. only thing i have right now, and it's not that good. the 6br barrel is on the encore in this picture. the 7-08 is on the left. i have it on it's own action now   i've added to this picture some since it was taken. :)
like i said the picture is not that great.

while i'm at it, i'll show off my muskie   8)
