Front sight for Contender
« on: November 26, 2003, 07:52:05 AM »
I have a Contender in 22 lr that I shoot open sight for pistol silhouette. I just ordered a Williams Foolproof with target knobs and a blade for the rear. The front sight is a bit wide plus I'd like to have some other options. Anyone know where I can find a replacement front sight, perhaps one that has a dovetail base made for my barrel that will fit the existing screw holes. It's a 10" stainless, match barrel. If I had something like that I could experiment a bit, trying different blades or beads or whatever fit the dovetail.

I asked Williams, they said the had no base to fit the newer barrels.

NRA rules do not permit modifying the sight or the barrel but something that is a fit as it is made is ok. I guess you could slide something in and out of a dovetail as long as there was no machining.

Thanks,
