I think it was late last year sometime someone posted some editorials from northern papers showing that the War was about revenues.  Does anyone remember what thread that was?  I've been through most of them, and am being blind because I can't find them.

Thank you, SBG, the first does help. Second is now a 404 error. Not quite what I was looking for though.  The post I have in mind has the text of two editorials, one I think from VT and the other might be NYT, basically saying "Let them go?  No, we can't just let them go.  Who in their right mind would pay our 40% tariff when the CSA levies only 10%?  From where would the money for our improvements come? "

I'll keep digging.  I know it is there somewhere.
