Big Trouble Now!
« on: May 14, 2010, 12:55:12 PM »
Went to my friend's gunshop today and there is a Marlin 336, 44 Mag on consignment.  Not interested in a 44 Mag but spent a lot of time playing with the lever gun.  First lever action I have held since 1976.  If it was a 357 I would have already put it in the gun safe.  I caught the Handi Virus just before last Christmas, I think it may have mutated into the Lever Gun Flu.  I start bringing these guns home I see trouble on the homefront.

I have "Marlinitus" and do not want a cure! I like Marlins more than any other rifle and am constantly prowling around on websites where they are discussed. Doing that has helped me to realize that I "NEED" more. At first I thought if I just had one more... Now I know that I will always have to have more even though I do not have time to hunt with the ones I have now. It IS addictive and you will love your new "affliction."

Boys, the first step to getting help is to admit that you have a problem.  Then buy a Marlin lever gun.  Or two.....

There is no cure, only getting another will put off the constant fondling of some one else's Marlin.  And of course, everyone knows having several Marlins makes you more desirable to the ladies ;).  DP

I have too many.  I'm gonna unload at least 5 of them at the gunshow this weekend.  I'm gonna keep an 1895, a .444, a .30-30, and a 39A.  They are awesome guns but I have too many deer rifles.

swampman, sshhhh,  don't say that out loud.  someone could be listening.  Is there a wife around there someplace?  Maybe you could donate those Marlins to those guys ehre on the board that are suffering with marlinitis...It could be the cure they are looking for.  Think of it like an organ donor program...you could save a life..
