Are those threaded couplings?  If so, how are they connected?

So you are putting the shot in the threaded portion, not the drilled portion?

So you are putting the shot in the threaded portion, not the drilled portion?

Then the powder charge is going into the threaded portion of the rear coupling?
matterest,
Help us understand how this works.

THE PART I DRILLED OUT IS THE POWDER CHAMBER ITS 2" LONG I DONT FILL IT ALL THE WAY THEN I WRAP A SLING SHOT AMMO IN A PAPER TOWL IT GOES IN THE THREADED PORTION...

WOULD YOU LIKE ME TO MAKE A DIAGRAM ?

ZULU, THE BOLT GOES ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE 1ST COUPLING  THE POWDER CHAMBER IS BORED 2" INTO THE END OF THE BOLT.

Is this safe?

I wouldn't make a cannon this way, but I have a machine shop in my garage.  It sounds like the chamber is the drilled hole and the bore is the threaded end of the second coupling.  I think there is some risk of premature ignition with the powder fouling in the outer threads but the charge must be pretty small so overall I don't think there is much risk.

However, the risk is in the hands of the operator.  He is what controls how much powder is in the equation.
