i like a 1" nylon sling. mine is a "super sling" made by outdoor connection, and it is actually a rifle sling. i can shorten it really short, hang it over the back of my neck, and the gun hangs right on my chest. it doesn't bounce, and flop around, and leaves both hands free when needed. i can also put my left hand on the forearm, let the sling dangle below my left elbow, then let it hook there. i then apply outward pressure with my left arm, and slight grip pressure towards the right, with my right hand. this is amazingly steady for those times you are caught without a rest. i'll guarantee, i can hold as steady(probably more) with this method, as i can hold a rifle for offhand shots. i'll never use a rifle again.
of course you would have to install sling swivel studs in the grip and forearm to attach the sling. :D

All my BIG handguns wear the BANDITO RIG or nothing at all!!!!!!
This rig holds the gun snugly, and rides cross draw style. :D

You can get one from FOXRIDGE OUTFITTERS, or Pistol packaging,         ( they make them). They don't have a web site, I have their phone no. if you want it. :-D  :-D

Given the size of the encore,
I'd recommend a pintle mount on your 4x4!

I have an Uncle Mikes sidekick I carry my Contender in. I just went out back to see if I could jump a deer up and 2 or 3 jumped up from the thick brush behind my house. One was very large. I was sneaking up on them and here comes my stupid dog. He chased them off. I never could see any horns. I started to shoot the old pooch. After seeing the big 12 point yesterday and not getting a shot, I have had a bad week. The holster for the pistol goes over your shoulder and the bottom goes on your belt. It works very well. A flap goes over the rear and snaps. You an take the flap off and it has a strap that goes over the end of the gun.
If you can earn it, why did He have to die?

I've found the Bandito holster by Pistol Packaging works well for me.

uncle mike's bandelero works real good with contender or ea brown falling block pistol in 15 inch. it even has two ways to secure the weapon.  bf hunter
