I was thinking the same thing.

What I’m waiting to see is how those to the left side of the aisle, who had whined and moaned so loud about “Gen. Betray-us” will recast him in shiny new revisionist and progressive metal as the True Hero of the Peace Loving Peasants and Workers Here and Abroad.

This is gonna take LOTS of popcorn I think.

Heard on the news that most of what was damming to McCrystal was, some of his staff was telling the reporter what McCrystal was saying to them.  McCrystal was mad about saying he needed 30,000 more troops and it was 6 months later that Obama decided to send more, but only half that number.  McCrystal reminds me of either Patton or McArthur.  Both ran their mouths.  Patton was passed over by Bradley, and McArthur had to step down in Korea, because he wanted to bomb China for entering the Korean war and Truman didn't want to because he was afraid Russia would come in the fray and start WWIII.

Yes; Patton ran his mouth also..but Gens Bradley, Eisenhower and even prez Roosevelt knew the value of a capable general ! Then too, as much they were able, they supplied Patton with the troops he needed..and they left the battlefield tactics to the general in the field !
   Was Patton worth keeping ? You bet your bippy he was !!  Cheap "community organizer"  politicians are a dime a dozen; but a first class general is very rare..and valuable..
     Tell us; what do you guys think Gen Patton would have said if Roosevelt or Eisenhower told him too "let the German troops shoot first", and only shoot back when he gets permission from Washington ?  ...or..

  What would Patton think about the "chicken medal"..awarded for not shooting back ?

  How about the reading of "Miranda rights" to the SS captured at Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen ?

  What pray tell, would Patton's reaction be to queers serving in his Corps ..and bragging about it ?

No problem with Patton, McArthur or McCrystal.  Patton was only removed for a short time.  McArthur should have been allowed to bomb China, because they entered the war.  Would not be a N. Korea today to deal with.  McCrystal needs to run for Prez.

DD;
   Generals don't always mke great presidents, but I'd suggest the worst general would still b e better than the best self-worshipping, "Community Organizer" (a.k.a. rabble rouser).

If he voted for the big O then he does not have the necessary judgement to lead troops, How stupid do you have to be to vote for your sworn enemy?
the nation that forgets it defenders will itself be forgotten
