Mystery (?) .22
« on: June 12, 2010, 10:35:39 PM »
Guess what this is.  40-50 years old maybe.  Rear sight adjustable for windage, front sight adjustable for elevation.   Shoots a couple inches at 25 yards with American Eagle ammo.  Probably better with good ammo & rested on bags, huh?

What's written on the grips ? Can't make it out.

It's a Star, Model F.  Nice gun, all steel, dependable, accurate & easy to use.  Only one I've ever seen.  Looks a bit like a P-38, doesn't it?

I have a STAR FR 22 pistol from many years ago. It has MMC sights on it and shoots like a million bucks. I think it has 7000+ rounds through it if memory serves. It also has the finest set of dark American black walnut stocks you ever layed eyes upon; I made 'em.
The pistol you pictured also looks a LOT like a French UNIQUE 22 pistol.

I've only fired it 100x or so & it works flawlessly, also seems as accurate as my Ruger Mk-I and Buckmark.  Very happy with it.  Might go elk hunting with me in backpack:  chrome plated, easy maintenence, huh?
