There shouldn't be any p - - - - - matches over William's post, he clearly labeled it as "choices and opinions" and I'm sure he believes as I do that one's choice or opinion is entirely personal and entirely their own..
Reading William's list I found that;
1) I am not into handguns near as much as William is.
2) Most of the handguns I have left would probably come under William's "mouse gun" category.
3) I shoot rimfire more than I do centerfires.
4) Autos for quick followup shot.
5) Bolt for precision.
6) Stocks; for looks I like wood.
7) For hunting esp in rain, snow & ice, I like synthetics.
My rifles are primarily used for hunting.
9) I admit, single shots.. esp H&R, hold a challenge/fascination for me, love their simplicity and compactness.
10) have been a longtime Ruger & Marlin fan, now leaning more toward CZ & Savage.
11) Still a NEF/H&R booster.
12) More inclined toward "shot placement" than "magnum slam".
13) Small game & varmints are just as much fun for me as big game.
14) Almost never use shotgun, and don't hunt things where shotgun is required ( it's the "precision" hangup).
15) I like the smell of Eley primed ammo.
Yes, I really do !
Nobody here has to agree..it's just quirky me...
