This is my almost nearly completed MH.  There are a few little things left to do but I hope to initiate it this week.

Fred,

Encase I haven't said it before Welcome!

You've done a great job! I saw you post on making the wheels they look good, I take it that's a Hern Barrel?
I guess we will soon see some smoke & fire photo's.

I bought the barrel from Hern as well as some fairly illegible blueprints for the carriage that I endeavored to follow.  I am not a particularly handy guy, being born, as a friend of mine says, with boxing gloves on, so I am feeling a little proud of myself for having finally gotten it together.  Tuesday we are planning a little dedication ceremony, with all due devotion to the blessed St. Barbara, along with some brats and potato salad.  Invited are the fine gentlemen (all very handy guys) who helped me along the way.  Now that I can post a picture without getting a vapor lock, I hope to soon share the fun.

Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6MmNf9ryK4) is a clip of our first firing.  We used 1100 gr CA with no filler.  Subsequent shots used a quarter cup of flour which seemed to improve the report some.  I haven't heard from the neighbors yet.

CA is what someone at Goex magic markered on some red cans containing cannon powder.  I assumed that was the appropriate short hand.  I'm the Friendly New Guy, remember?

No problem, just never seen it used that way, and it makes sense.

No, nothing like that.  I'm quite a mild guy.  In fact, I'm thinking of naming my howitzer "The Compensator."  By the way, what is a Kewpie?

2.25" although it measures a tad bigger.  When you get started, I can be a good source for what mistakes can be made.
