Hornady Auto Charge review
« on: July 31, 2010, 09:04:57 AM »
I just received my new Auto Charge.  I had looked at the RCBS, and Smart Reloader digitals, but settled on the Hornady because of price and features.  My first impression is I really like it.  Loaded up about 20 rds of AA1680 for my 357 max.  I set it on 26.2 grains at the auto normal setting.  (it has 3 speeds slow-normal-fast)  It dispensed every load dead on, no overcharged.  I was not seating bullets at this point, but I do think it would be easily waiting on me.  In other words, it would have dispensed another charge before I could finish seating a bullet.  I have a hornady balance beam scale, which I zeroed and set to 26.2, dispensed a couple charges from the Auto charge and checked them with the balance beam...................dead on!

I could not be more pleased.

Ive got two dispensors a pact and a lyman. I wouldnt be without them. Only thing i have to question though is why use them with 1680? it meters so well through a measure that it just isnt nessisary to use a dispensor with it.

It's much faster than setting up to throw a charge, plus I was just trying it out! ;D
