  They don't need citizenship or voting power here to do that, They can elevate themselves on a temporary work permit and help the country which is graceful enough to help them by purchasing health insurance, paying taxes, and assuming same responsibilities assumed by legal citizens whom they work with and among. It certainly looks from their "protests", that if they were given the right to vote...they would vote to bring the chaos they have back home, into this country.
  Obviously, if they shouldered the same costs/responsibilities the rest of us do, their wages may have to rise. That way the honest, legal citizen may be able to compete equally for the job filled now by an illegal. That's called "fair play", and would raise the standards for all people employed in these jobs.

A secure border would likely cause many people to live the remainder of their lives in abject poverty.  Children who would otherwise be educated and fed will remain ignorant and hungry.  People will die in everyday accidents and from everyday ailments that would be no problem to remedy in the US.


So what?? They don't like their country then they need to work hard to change it. I'm fed up with the dregs of their society coming here to take advantage of evereything we have worked hard to achieve. They are NOT immigrants, call em what they are. Illegals, felons, trespassers, invaders. They are a huge drain on the American economy. Cost American taxpayers over $334 BILLION year 2 years ago, I'm sure it's higher now. Find em, make em build the wall, ship em out. I'm fed up with these scum. If they do come here legally, great, I'm all for it. Most importantly, we speak ENGLISH here. learn it and speak it or GET OUT, you are not welcome here and theres no need for signs, etc to be in spanish too. We took an elderly friend to sign up for foodstamps last week. On the wall was  a paper that said. Free, learn ENGLISH as a SECOND language. POWDERMAN.

I like this idea.  Find an illegal, give them 6 months of hard, unskilled labor on public projects (wall, ditch, road, whatever) pay them minimum wage (I think it would be the right thing to do) and then drop them on the other side of the wall.  They get 7-8 grand (about double 4x what many would make in a year) we get lower taxes (lol@$23.00 an hour ditch digger on govt payroll.)

  Outside of the fact that obama is bad for the country,  the citizenship of illegal aliens is not all that bad since they will be expectected to pay taxes for the jobs they hold instead of stealing money from the govt and earn thier health care.  I think most of us forget where we came from in this world.  America was started as a safe haven for people from all over the world and i believe that it still should be that way.  Our country is only a few hundred years old so im sure that many of us have immigrants in our family as well.  Mine has only been here since the mid 1800's and im glad that we came so i had the opportunity to be born and grow up in this nation. 
  Let others experience the same freedoms as you and your famillies do and give their children the same chance to grow up in america just as yours do.  Lets not hate them based on where they are from and what language they speak.  Give us your poor, your tired, your hungry.  HAVE WE FORGOTTEN.  I have served and i feel this is why we do it.  Help people less fortunate and stop hate. 

marine, while I know you mean well, as a 20 veteran police officer (retired) I personally watched and policed illegals coming into Texas. Immediately they get on welfare and food stamps, (and brother they know how in advance) AND hold down a full time job with above minimal wages. I asked many, why they got on welfare and food stamps when they were working. Their answer to a person was always: It's FREE!
They DON'T see things the same. The DON'T see the need for medical insurances IT'S FREE AT HOSPITAL EMERGENCY ROOMS, they don't see the need for car insurance, HEY! He's got insurance, maybe his insurance will fix both our cars, they don't see the need for educating their children, HEY! We're saving money, and the kid can work for the farmer.
It goes on, and on. Have you ever asked yourself WHY? WHY, is Mexico so poor? They claimed to own Texas for 400 years, but the Comanche and Apache kept them ran out. In that 400 years they established less than 3,000 settlers. When Stephen F. Austin made his deal with Santa Anna to colonize Texas, he established over 30,000 residence in less than 4 years. It's all about ambition, and Mexican illegals JUST WANT TO GET BY, and will take a freebie in a heartbeat.

If they are captured and arrested they are prisoners and would be paid VERY min wages, then charged for their meals, bed, and housing, same as many other criminals here in Kentucky and elsewhere. Many  Prisoners here have to reimburse the State, or County for these services, illegal felons should too. POWDERMAN.

In most states prisoners are PAID for their pen time. Oklahoma is but one that pays them for everyday they serve. It ain't much, but it adds up.

I have worked in the prisons and jails , what they get paid is used for needed items like tooth paste etc sometimes a candy bar or smoke but seldom is there much extra.

Well SHOOTALL, I just spent a week in an Oklahoma Prision in a class, and touring the site, and deciding if I wanted to accept the job offer. They pay for Flat Screen Televisions, ipods, radios, and the mentioned toilietries, with this money, so it does add up.

No not the admin. The inmates here earn like $ .50 an hour or something to buy smokes and stuff . Yea the hot rooms full of phones bring in lots of cash for the state

What I'm sayin SHOOTALL, is the inmates get money for being in jail. Even maximum security that is on lock down. The state of Oklahoma PAYS THEM for doing nothing but eating and sleeping. This money pays for their soaps, tooth brushes, pastes ect. along with when saved, flat screen TVs, i-pods, radios, games ect.

In the state prison system in Minnesota prisoners can get a job and make a very small wage. In our local county jail prisoners are fed from a very good local resteraunt, but they are charges a daily fee for each day served. One of the good things about it is that the ones who don't pay thier bill usually leave the county and never come back.

Where I live county inmates clean up the side of the roads, and grow their own gardens in the prison yards.  This is for the "non-dangerous" prisoners.  They also sweep, mop, and clean the restrooms of the county courthouse and sheriffs department.
