Lost a real friend
« on: February 10, 2011, 01:23:48 AM »
My step-dad passed away the other night , we all knew it was coming , but you can never really be ready for something like that .

He was the one that taught me to hunt , fish and to truly understand the outdoors , and as per his last wishes , his ashes will be spread over Norris Lake Tn. , the one place he was truly at home , or as he put it , " The lake has fed us all these years , now its time for me to return the favor "

Condolences to you and your family my friend. Loosing family and friends is never easy.

Peace and our lord god is with him, as he will be with us all one day.

Thanks for the kind words guy , the Funeral went very well considering all that was going on , my 1/2 sister from his first wife , who he had disowned many years ago showed up and made a total ass of her self , as we had expected .

As he was an Air Force vet , he did get full Mil. Honers complete with rifle salute which made us all very happy . The Flag went to his his sister ( also an Air Force Vet ) and the brass form the rifles was devided up amoung us kids .

We are planning a fanily trip in early June to take him down to Tn. for his final resting place .

And with all this going on , work desided that we needed to go from 32 hours a week to 66 hours - Plus I have a damn COLD = YUCK  :o

Sorry you lost your step dad. Now it's time to take care of yourself-cold so as you can get down to that lake.
RIP Mike. Died on July 14th, around 2am, with his family at his side, he went peacefully to be with god.

Im sorry to hear of your loss. We all have that someone that taught us the things we love . Hunting fishing and so many other things that shape our lives. I lost my father thirty years ago but will never forget the things he taught me. You are in my thoughts and prayers and thank you for your kind words regarding the loss of my sister. God bless
