Proper angle for GB Cohern

OK Long time since Ive been here but I finally have time and next week going to a machinist friends to do my Mortar. Now the carrige part gets me. What is the fixed angle of it? I know distance is made by adjusting powder,(I think) but what angle is the tube supposed to be?

Depends on which one you are building but most are 45 degrees.

Forty-five degrees will get you the longest distance with the least amount of powder, and as DD says most mortars with fixed elevations are set at that angle.

Or use a different model, like an 1841 Seacoast mortar, and then you can use an adjustable elevation mount.
