Yay it loaded.  The people filming this were idiots!  How could they expect the deer not to feel threatened?  As with most animals they will do what it takes to protect their young.

The Deer we have in Alaska are much bigger, but they are just as protective.  Every year someone gets killed after getting between mother and baby.  I am far more scared of cow Moose with babies than Bears.  They are far more dangerous.

This was only a little Whitetail but they can be dangerous too.  Just think what would happen to a child that was walking down that street.  The child would just want to see the baby up close, but what would Mama deer do.  She could seriously injure or kill a kid.
Where is old Joe when we really need him?  Alaska Independence    Calling Illegal Immigrants "Undocumented Aliens" is like calling Drug Dealers "Unlicensed Pharmacists"
What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

Looks like a Blacktail doe to me..........Whitetail's have a much longer tail. This one has a short , black tipped tail.
Also the ears look like the blacktail we have here in Oregon.

The Alaskan Sitka (Blacktail) are even smaller on average than the Blacktail of Oregon and Washington.

Now if your counting the Moose.............Yup! much bigger deer ;D

I agree! The cat got of lucky too. Almost like the Doe sized them up, and decided the Dog was the bigger threat.

Two years ago, a large Blacktail buck did a number on our Staffordshire. She liked to run deer out of our yard, but this four point (eight eastern count) was in full rut, and didn't run. He punched a hole in her side, and then walked away. The wound was shallow, and she healed quickly, and she decided to quit chasing deer!

This Buck is still coming around, and he has a nasty temper. I have several video's of him, and I keep my distant while filming him.I'd put him in the freezer, but we live inside the city limits, so he lives another day ;D

I really like the part where one of them said that the deer was over reacting. ;D

NWH - are you allowed to use archery inside the city limits or is all hunting verboten where you live?   I know many cities/counties in the south will allow archery only inside large urban areas that have contiguous woodlands.

"Nein" no hunting allowed period here in the city limits. You would have to get the Oregon wildlife people to take care of a problem animal, and good luck doing that.If I had a child to worry about, he would have disappeared. ::)

The small town I live in, is in a narrow valley surrounded by forest's on both sides.
Occasionally we have Bear, or Cougar drop by to visit, and lot's of resident deer. Blacktail and Whitetail.

Snapped a pic this morning of this nice young Buck. He has been  eating plums on my neighbor's tree

The doe is a full blood mule deer.

A couple of examples of blacktail:

A lot of the Siskiyou County blacktail’s do not qualify for the record book because they cross breed with Mule deer.

I hunt often in the higher elevations of the Cascades in Oregon. The deer there have crossed with Mulies, and are much bigger in body and antler, than the Blacktail here on the west side lower elevations.

After looking at the video again...Your right! She is a mule deer doe.

LOL!  Myronman...when I first saw this, I thought that you meant that you posted the original video on youtube, and I had called the person who made it an idiot!  I am so glad I saw your later post in this thread....now I have NOT lost a lot of respect for ya!  ;)

if i had filmed it, you would have seen me chase the cat away from the fawn so i could get a clear shot at the cat.
