Dick's Sporting Goods Sale
« on: July 16, 2010, 09:38:50 AM »
Folks:

Just got back from Dick's, and they have a firearms sale going on till pretty much end of month.

Camo, heavy barrel H&R 223, 22-250 and 308 with scopes are $249.

At the risk of heresy here, they have Made in Spain CVA Optima Elite heavy barrel 223, 7mm-08, 270 and 30-06 for $220. The cheapest add-on barrel is $199, they ask as much as $249 for additional barrels. They want $199 for blued barrels, and $235 for stainless. May as well buy complete rifles for $220 if you want the extra calibers. I handled the 270...really well balanced and points well too. It is drilled and tapped for a scope AND open sights, the barrel is drilled and tapped at the muzzle for a front sight!

To tell the truth, I had more or less forgotten about CVA being a break-open player. I know a friend who bought a muzzle loader then got a 223 barrel for it...very happy about that. With additional barrels up to $235 I know why I put it out of my mind.

If any sale ticket ends in "5", like "219.95" they give you another 10% off.

Maybe I can play at the end of the month.

Have fun you all.

Talked to cva this rifle was made for dicks and one other sports store. When they are gone that is it as cva has shipped all they have or intend to make. also per cva you are not able to buy elite barrels to interchange with these. they will not fit. I like the camo lam stocks on the H&r and called cs to see if i could order one but they said they dont make them so I quess only dicks gets them.

That is great information...so we buy the whole rifle for each caliber we want and save $15 compared to barrels in stainless steel...not a bad deal by me. :D

The gal in The Lodge pointed to a sign on the gun rack that said, "10% of for items priced that end in a "5". I do not know if this includes the sale items or not. Knowing Dick's, I think it will, no guarantees by me.
