As you know i ordered a swede m38 husqvarna barreled action. I just received an m38 stock set with wood and hardware. Upon inspection i found out its all matching serial numbers the metal is marked #999 and the wood is marked 279999 how weird is that to find an all matching m38 stock set which is very rare anyway. When my action arrives if its matching the serial number than i going to buy a lotto tick asap....its a shot in the dark and probably 1 to 100 billion it will match anyway. I don't really expect the receiver/bolt to match my stock set thats impossible. I have never seen all the numbers match on a stock set let alone a complete m38. I was told that matching numbers on the carbines is very rare.
Since the swede m38's are no longer offered at samco as complete rifles i figured i'd build another one using the orginal parts that are available right now. I figure the cost is around $350 for it. I know thats kind of high but its beginning to be the norm for swede's lately. In the future i can see the swede m38's being sought after by new collectors down the road too. I also ordered a m96 swede barreled action too so ether its a m96 orginal or parts for my build project.
