I had a 10" T/C barrel rechambered to .357/.44B&D when I was young.  It was really something on deer and hogs.  The brass is really easy to form, and the cartridge is highly accurate.

158 JSP   W296 / 24.0   2045fps in a 10" barrel

I wonder how it would do in a Handi?

I think it would be a good match in a 16" handi barrel.  I like the oddball, old, and obsolete cartridges.

I'm sure it would be fine, although I don't see any advantage ( or disadvantage ) over a simpler to do .357 Max. But, if a person had a revolver in .357/44 B&D then the Handi would surely make a really nead companion rifle.

I believe it's faster than the .357 Max but the .357 Max conversion is easier.

True. It would have to take out more meat from the chamber but I suppose it could be done by hand... :-\, but I think it's a cool idea.

If you look at Lee's Reloading and compare bullet for bullet, the Max comes out faster by +/- 50fps-150fps all the way to the 170 grain limit of the B&D, then the Max goes up to 210gr.

I think it would be a great unique round to have, especially if the cases are easy to form.
