sure grip long springs and guard traps

i was looking at a trapping website and i came upon some odd looking longspring traps. theyre #1 long springs but theyre called sure grips and one by duke is the #1 long spring guard trap. what makes them better than any other trap? they have that bar that is attatched to the trap with a spring on it. what does it do? is it worth the extra money? any pics of catches in them would be great.

the guard traps were invented mainly for muskrat and mink, they are adept at chewing off their trapped foot in just a few minutes. the gaurd wire loop kept the animal pushed back where he could not reach his foot to chew on it.they are usefull in shallow water sets where immediate drowning is not certain.also useful for skunk.if you trap shallow water marshes or creeks they may be worth the extra money.

 Going to straighten a few beliefs out-- muskrat and beaver--do not chew off their feet. They spin and twist when caught--thus the word--wring off-the stoploss or guard trap, keeps rats legs and feet from twisting,thus they stay in the trap where they belong.
 By the way--I redesigned that trap for the Duke company, 4 or 5 years ago.
 Thats my main muskrat trap.
 My puter actually stayed on for a bit.
