Talo Trapper Special --modified
« on: July 23, 2010, 02:22:04 PM »
Can't seem to find a 357 mag on the used market. Have located a source of Talo Trappers in 357. Question, need opinions from owners of what they think about this model. Should I get this one or the standard model with the composite stock?  Thanks in advance.

---Well took the plunge. Ordered one from Davidson's ,which is up the road in Prescott. Should be here by Tuesday. Was going to wait til the shop opened Tuesday. They sold two since  friday, and I saw the stock drop from ten to eight. Now there are seven left. Anybody want one, you might want to get after it. I imagine when these are gone, they might be hard to come by. Since I havn't had a 357/38 in five years, I have a ton of ammo burning a hole in my pocket. This will be fun.  Also the scary thing was that I have never ordered a firearm online before. It was too easy. Imagine that getting exactly what you want without having to go to a ton of shops and still not finding what you would like.

the standard an the talo are both on the sb1 frame so nothing gained there.i personaly own one of the talo 357 an love it.i think its going to be the perfect gun for useing in my climbing tree stand or ladder stands.plus its so light an small it would make a good spot an stalk gun in the thick.hell its so light an easy to carry i cant think ofa time it wouldnt be handi except for long shots though.plus i dont think it weighs much more than my bow.

Hi,

I got a NIB Talo Trapper a month ago.  I really am found of the short barrel Handis and this one is no expection.  I have already reamed it to 357 Max.  Still working on load development as I had to install optics because of old eyes and start over on sighting the gun.  It is a hoot to shoot, I have had it to the range 3 or 4 times and I shoot 2 or 3 times as  many rounds out of this gun as I do my other single shots.  I am sure you pay a velocity penalty with this gun over the 22" model but a 357 Mag or Max isn't a long range weapon so I think the increased "handiness" more than compensates for the loss velocity.

Don't worry, I've purchased from Davidsons, their dealers are good and if you do get a bad one, their customer service is good too.  8)
