Looking for a better scope setup
« on: August 03, 2010, 04:10:11 AM »
I have a contender 7-30 Waters with a Bushnell 2x6.  To shoot target it is fine, but for hunting the eye relief is too long.  I have to be too stretched out.  Has anyone figured out a way to shorten things up so that the pistol is more hunter friendly?

The eye relief on the Bushnell scope is typically a little longer than some other manufacturers.  You may want to try either a Nikon 2.5 X 8 or a Burris 2 X 7 or a Weaver 2.5 X 8 as the eye relief is a little shorter.  Leupold makes an excellent variable pistol scope but the eye relief is much longer.  The Nikon, Weaver  & the Burris will shorten up the eye relief if the power is turned up more where the Bushnell and the Leupold do not and remain the same eye relief over the entire power range.
