It kinda depends on what you are used to. If your scoped rifles have monte carlo's or otherwise high combs you may 'feel' like you are missing something. The properly fitted comb/cheekpiece will aid in quick mounting to get your eye directly behind the scope for 'snap shooting', but in the real world of deliberately shooting sporting guns the factory comb rarely does this, and we accomodate the stock moreso than we think.
On the BC use the lowest rings that get the scope off the hammer and just go shoot it, you will do fine.
