she tried to bring up hawaii or california  ::)

then she brought up arizona, the areas of phoenix and  scottsdale (I guess those two places looked good online?)....she wants to see pretty canyons and hiking.  I want to avoid any liberal entrenchments or big cities (I might be able to handle the outskirts but no deep city).  what's the deal with open/concealed carry there?  from what I can understand I "can" carry openly there?  what resorts, nature areas and such are good to visit... what's cheap.

Tombstone.  ;D
Several do play "cowboys".Yep,real sixguns.
Before any hiking in the area,do ask beforehand. The Sheriff/Tombstone Police can answer your concerns/questions.
Yep,got motels there.Plenty of Old West History. You do get to walk the same streets, that
the old "cowboys" and lawmen of the past.
Ghost towns are around there too.
Try out Nellie Cashman's Restaurant,and the Longhorn.Good food,good people.
California ? They'd make it real difficult with firearms here.Need to have separate locking containers
for guns and ammo. :(
I'd pick Arizona,Nevada any day of the week. With Arizona at the top.
Please check the temps of the areas you want to visit.
Congratulations Squib ! ;D

Wait until winter, or at least late fall to visit Arizona and then try Laughlin, Nevada.  There are things to do and see and it is cheap--unless you get the gambling bug.  If you like the water, check out Lake Mohave.  Rent a kayak in Bullhead City and paddle down through Topok Canyon.  Take the jet-boat ride from Laughlin to the London Bridge.  There are lots of other things to see and do in the Bullhead/Laughlin area.

Oh, and no one is going to bother you if you pack a gun--but I wouldn't do it in a casino.

I'm thinking fully guided ELK hunt!

Nothing says "I Love You" like an Arizona elk hunt. It's a little late for this year, you gotta plan ahead there sport, love is not easy.

This time of year I wouldn't want to be anywhere south of Flagstaff. Southern part of the state is a great place----in the winter.

It is not a honeymoon for me, but I know a few people that return to AZ every year for spas. Too New Age and weird for me. Would she be up for doing a Minuteman tour for 2 weeks?

it's 100 degrees and super humid in MO right now (pretty much every midsummer) and she manages, I used to be a grunt in 29 palms, ca. so I don't mind heat much.  time of year isn't an issue we can change.  I don't care for laughlin or vegas.  tombstone sounds good.  she might like spas?

no gunsite or minutemen scenarios!  my left leg is kinda gimp and she's not into shooting unless it's .357 mag and produce/water bottles (or a .22 and eggs).  as for gimpiness I can still hike well enough to keep up with a girl so that's not an issue.  mainly just money and gun-phobe-phobia issues.  I want to be able to afford a decent trip and NOT be stuck with weirdos and unarmed (I'm really not comfortable unarmed, especially off my "turf").  is it REALLY a huge, horrible issue to check a gun in and out of an airport or two for a straight shot flight there and back from say, KCI (kansas city international airport) to wherever in AZ?

I like to visit he Tucson area. Old Ft Huachuca, Kartchner Caverns, Old Tucson Movie set, Sonoran desert Museum,Tombstone, Pima Air Museum(5,000 thumbs up!!). Good resturaunts in the area as well, along with shopping for the wife at the mall and lots of shops, be sure to spend time with her shopping and buy her something special! Take a couple days up north at the Grand Canyon, it truly is grand and I haven't seen apicture that does it justice! Finish off the trip in Prescott at J&G Sales!!!!  ;)   ;D

Oh yes, Congratulations!! The more children you have, the more guns you get to buy!! ( I'm buying 'em for the grandchildren now!  ;)  )

I dunno, it is a honeymoon, something for the wife to recall fondly as she is washing your stained underwear for the next few decades. Take her to Hawaii. Go snorkeling. Get drunk. Eat something weird. If you picked a honeymoon spot where you need to CCW, you may have picked the wrong spot.
