OK. Just for the fun of it, lets list the countries that have outlawed unions, past and present.

Any takers on this list,,,,

The south was full of textile mills until the last 15 years or so.  ALL of them in my area have moved overseas for cheaper labor.  Only one local mill was union.  It closed first back in the 80's.  The rest closed more recently.  ALL but one was union.  $12-14 an hour labor can't compete with $2 an hour labor in China, even with shipping costs.  Briggs and Stratton is in Auburn, Al now.  Moved from Milwaukee.  Most of its labor force is part time students.  Full time workers are maintenance and supervision.  All non-union.

spanky... you are a complete waste of time.   taking comments from one conversation and bringing them into another in a feeble attempt to paint a member in a certain light is pathetic.   given your small minded outlook, i guess it doesnt surprise me.

Trying to stay vaguely on topic, here is the latest:

HARLEY-DAVIDSON FINALIZES SALE OF MV AGUSTA

MILWAUKEE, Aug. 6, 2010 -- Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) has concluded the sale of its subsidiary, MV Agusta, to Claudio Castiglioni and his wholly owned holding company, MV Agusta Motor Holding, S.r.l., effective today. Castiglioni is the former owner of the Italian motorcycle maker and has served as MV Agusta's chairman since 2008, when Harley-Davidson acquired the company.

In October 2009, Harley-Davidson announced its intention to sell MV Agusta as part of a new corporate strategy to focus resources on the Harley-Davidson brand. Since then, Harley-Davidson has held discussions with various potential MV Agusta buyers.

"MV Agusta is a proud brand and we wish Mr. Castiglioni and the company's employees well," said Harley-Davidson President and Chief Executive Officer Keith Wandell. "Our decision to divest MV Agusta reflects our strategy to focus our efforts and our investment on the Harley-Davidson brand, as we believe this provides an optimal path to long-term growth."

With faith, all is possible. Not easy, but possible.

Ahhh, Spanky is a moderator... And I don't think he's on double secret probation by Graybeard or anything.  People are way to sensitive these days...

Brigg's was union when it was in Wisconsin.  Textiles is a bit of a different animal than manufacturing.

Once again... take a look at your own post Myron. How can you personally attack me and then quote the rules on personal attacks?
There's no need for you and I to continue with nonsense quips back and forth. We don't agree with each other... simple as that. It happens sometimes. One of has to be the bigger man and stop the bickering. For the sake of the thread I will be the bigger man and step away.

that is mighty big of you....proclaiming to be...whatever it is you think you are.    ::)
i know you are stepping away from this, you being the bigger man and all; but i would really like to see where exactly it was that i personally attacked you.   calling it like it is- yes.  personal attack-no.

here is the personal message spanky saw fit to send me today.
There is a difference between a personal attack and calling it like it is Myron.
You make silly personal attacks like saying I'm a waste of time... calling it like it is would be me saying that you weren't man enough to keep your woman so she ran out on you. Do you think she was calling it like it is?
Can you see the difference now.
If you want to keep up the personal crap send me PM's from now on. You won't look like such a fool.

Spanky

i have seen about every kind of behavior over the years here at g.b.o., and when people think they are going to p.m. hateful emails to me, i copy and post them word for word, unaltered, right where everyone can see them.   if you want to be a hateful person, at least have the guts to be up front about it.     it is no suprise to me, as i could tell you were a hateful person from your small minded posts regarding unions.  anyone who thinks things are that simple obviously has a problem with comprehending reality.    so go ahead, send some more sorry p.m.s to me, cause i will post them right here for everyone to see.   ;)

Personal attack-no  Calling it like it is-yes
You told the world of your personal problems in your prior posts. I was just using it as an example of the difference.
Can you see the difference now Myron?

I hope Harley does leave Milwauki. Between the union scum and the horrendous taxes I would like to see em move to South Dakota. I think we are seeing the union crazies right here.

Nah Billy,

They'll end up moving to the "Detroit South" area. Read Alabama-Mississippi-Georgia

We'll work for nuthin' and be thankful for it as long as you don't try to make us work on opening day of deer season or during the Ironbowl. ;)
